Are the two `Eid Prayers obligatory

Q 2: Is it obligatory upon women to perform Salat-ul-`Eid (the Festival Prayer)? If they have to do so, should they perform it at home or at a Musalla (a place for Prayer)?

A: It is not obligatory upon women to perform Salat-ul-`Eid, but they are recommended to do it as it is a Sunnah for them. They can perform it in a Musallah along with Muslims because the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered them to do so. (Part No. 8; Page No. 285) May Allah grant us success.
